AI Risk Management Recommendations

Tips for CIOs and IT Leaders

According to Gartner, “AI risk management poses new operational requirements that are not well understood. Conventional controls and organizational processes do not sufficiently ensure AI’s trustworthiness, security, and reliability.

CIOs and IT leaders must work with stakeholders across their respective organizations to implement a comprehensive AI trust and risk management program. Ideally, a dedicated risk management office should be established to work across organizational lines, such as legal, compliance, privacy, data and analytics, business functions, and AI model development.”

Safely Scaling AI With IT Oversight

Find the Right Balance of Speed and Control

Keeping control over the development of AI models in the enterprise is not an easy task. All analytics and AI projects must be monitored because no one wants a model in use that is flawed, low-performing, or undocumented. IT leaders have legitimate expectations about what models are in use, for what purpose, if they’re business critical, if they’re risky, who approved them, and so on.

With Dataiku, teams can prevent deployment of projects, bundles (analytics with or without models), and models without a sign-off in Dataiku. The Govern node in Dataiku allows teams to require stakeholder review and sign-off on model versions or projects before they are deployed to production.
